Academic integrity
Inkwell is a writing aid. It can help you plan, draft, check and polish, but the work you hand in is your responsibility.
Follow your institution's rules
Schools and universities set their own policies on AI tools, and they differ from course to course. Check the policy before you use any tool on assessed work, and ask your instructor when it is unclear.
Be open about what you used
If a policy asks you to declare AI assistance, declare it. Keep your notes, outlines and drafts so you can show how the work developed.
Rewriting is not authorship
Paraphrasing or humanizing a text does not make someone else's ideas yours. Sources still need to be cited, and copied work is still copied after it has been reworded.
Detection is an estimate
Our AI detector, like every detector, gives a likelihood based on writing patterns. It can be wrong in both directions and should never be used as the only evidence that someone did or did not use AI.
Check what the tools produce
AI output can contain mistakes, including invented facts and references. Verify anything you rely on.
