What the Chinese Grammar Checker does

Chinese grammar has no verb conjugation, but it has plenty of places to go wrong. Every noun needs the right measure word, 的, 地 and 得 sound identical but do different jobs, and 了 changes meaning depending on where it sits. Typing with pinyin input also produces homophone errors, where the right sound comes out as the wrong character. This checker finds and fixes those problems.

It works with both Simplified and Traditional characters and keeps whichever you used. Learners preparing for HSK writing, people writing to Chinese-speaking colleagues and native speakers proofreading reports can all use it. You get the corrected text and a short list of changes, such as 个 replaced by 本 before 书.

How to use it

01

Paste Chinese text in Simplified or Traditional characters.

02

Press Check.

03

Read the corrected version and the list of changes.

What people use it for

HSK writing practice

Check practice essays for measure word and particle errors, then review the list to see your weak spots.

Pinyin typing slips

Catch characters that sound right but are wrong, such as 在 and 再, which input methods often swap.

Work emails

Proofread messages to Chinese-speaking colleagues or suppliers so they read naturally.

Questions

Simplified or Traditional?

Both. The checker keeps the script you pasted and does not convert between them.

Does it check Cantonese?

It is built for standard written Mandarin. Written Cantonese uses different characters and grammar, so it is outside what this tool corrects.

Can it add pinyin?

No. It returns corrected Chinese text and a list of changes only.

Will it catch wrong characters with the same sound?

Yes. Homophone errors from pinyin input are one of the main things it looks for.
