What the French Grammar Check does

French spelling is full of silent endings, which makes errors hard to hear and easy to write. Past participles agree with the subject after être and sometimes with the object after avoir, homophones such as a and à or ces and ses look alike in speed typing, and the subjunctive appears after il faut que. This checker corrects those points and fixes accents and typographic spacing.

It helps learners writing their first dissertations, English speakers emailing French colleagues, and native speakers who want a check before sending a formal letter. The corrected text comes first, followed by a short list of the changes, such as allé corrected to allés to agree with nous, or a missing accent added to très.

Questions

Does it fix past participle agreement?

Yes. It corrects agreement with être, with reflexive verbs and with a preceding direct object after avoir.

Does it add spaces before punctuation?

Yes. French typography puts a space before ; : ? and !, and the checker applies that convention.

Canadian or European French?

It keeps the vocabulary you wrote, including Quebec terms, and corrects grammar that both varieties share.

Do I need to sign up?
